Of course, the one who owns it gave justice from the very beginning. Oh I miss Bidamie!

So this morning I went to take a tour in soompi this time and indulge myself scouring for my latest kdrama flick, the recently concluded Secret Garden. I honestly became engrossed at this drama that until now am tempted to watch it again. This is like me after the He is Beautiful craze. So much for fangirling. Geesh.

As much as I fell in love with Binnie or his character as Joo Woon, having a thread of more than 1000 pages made me much lazier to start reading. Whoa , that much?

Then I remember Kim Nam Gil’s thread which have less than a hundred pages to date. 58 to be exact. I checked both thread for the first posting date. And I was surprised to see that both were created in the same year, 2005.

Gong Yoo is much the same. And Kang Ji Hwan too. With numerous pages for each celebrities, I came to wonder why KNG have that small quantity of interactions?

I must admit that I came to only know about Kim Nam Gil after his remarkable (I have said this term for the nth time) portrayal as Bidam in Queen Seon Deok (MBC, 2009 ). Though I religiously watched on live streaming sites his follow up drama, Bad Guy, I felt lacking as a fan. I got to know about him more, that’s what my fanguts tell me.

Aside from QSD, his filmography highlighted my curiosity by these two points:

POB was my initial KNG movie to watch. I disregarded any reviews and synopsis, so just imagine me being surprised by its delicate love scenes. What can I say aside from KNG’s being so damn FTW hot here? That he indeed portrayed Kang Mu above par that I even hate his dying scene? I cried NOT FAIR after the sad ending. But oh, this is Korean movie. What’s new? They are fond of sad endings anyway. But gah, this man stole my senses. He really that good and wonder, from what planet did he come from?

NO REGRET. I only saw the trailer. I only saw the first 20-30 minutes of it. I stopped at the s-e-x part of Sungmin and Jae-min. I don’t know when will i watch and finish this movie. As much as it was regarded as true gay korean film by critics, I can’t just hold my grip. There’s no rush anyway. I have a year and half to take my time to see Jaemin again.

So could this be the reason why? Because of the context in Korea about gay as a taboo, No Regret have defied the connotation about gays. It clearly made an emphasis in the movie that love does not define persons. Kim Nam Gil even stated that this movie is not a story of two gays but two persons falling in love instead.

Im administering KNG Philippines Facebook Page for almost a year now. Based on my observations, new likers (“like” is FB term by the way ) are fixated about him as Bidam and sometimes forgetting that he is Kim Nam Gil. As admins, we have to introduce to members his filmography and his life before and after QSD. Yet, due to factors like unavailability of dvd’s and culture gap, we can hardly scour everything from KNG’s career box. But still, KNGph members still do love him. The page is currently increasing its members to more than 10,000 despite his exit in the showbiz for military service last year.

What made me his fan? My co-admins coined me as the KNG’s walking dictionary. Doing my homework left an impression to them that my addiction is overflowing. Right now I am able to access his official korean fan site, True Eyes. Together with Eve (my co-admin), we both able to meet our China , Indonesia and Thailand KNG counterparts. There’s a KNGPH YT channel. I made a KNGPH blogspot. The Twitter account made by Cris synch with our FB page. KNGph made a bold move to send a scrapbook to him and just depended on the idea that he actually received it. (That was his management had said). What else?

His charisma. Is that the reason? The first thing I admired about him is not based on his breakthrough performance in QSD. I didnt marathon the series yet. His first appearance in episode 21 made me curious to check his bio. My first read was his interview by 10.asia.kor. I was impressed. He’s smart, yes. But what strike me most was his unannounced visit in Padang Indonesia for his charity work. It amazed me much that I checked his other activities related to this. He endorsed CPAF. He went to Japan-Korea Friendship fiesta and made an appearance for free, where Mongolia became the beneficiary. (He then later received honors for both last year). Two videos were released when he went to Raphael House, assisting the handicapped children. He love kids indeed.

An issue was lifted though in KNGPH about Korean celebrities doing charity works for publicity. Sincerity was in question since having this kind of image may add brilliance to a rising star. I don’t care really if these stuffs they’re doing are for the show. Because in the end, they still extended help to those who need it. They still made a soul happy. However, I was more delighted to know about KNG’s isolated visit to Padang. He exemplified himself from then on. My respect soared high, despite the obvious –that he’s not just a good actor in his own guild plus the uber gorgeousness he defines.

Last week, I was able to watch his very first fan meeting held way back in 2007. It was not that “grand” fan meeting/birthday party. It was more of a simple gathering of fans across Korea to celebrate his birthday. (He made a debut in 2003, but gained distinction from his performance in No Regret and Lovers later in 2006). With a small number of fans surrounding him, he remained shy and poignant. As if he’s only talking to his peers. I instantly laughed at the overwhelming embarrassment written on his face when he received that boxer short given by his fan. The reaction was classic. He indeed appreciates his fans more than the skyrocketed fame he gained in 2009.I wish I was there to witness it because i find that kind of fan meeting a rare one.

He have gained the celebrity status after the record breaking ratings from Queen Seon Deok, where his character as Bidam became a household name in the last quarter of 2009. Early in 2010, major CF’s such as ADHOC, The Class and Ohui add to his career portfolio. Despite this fame he got, he didn’t agree to what the society want to brand him–he isnt a celebrity. He’s not a god to be worshipped on. He is hesitant sometimes for his fans buying him expensive gifts. For him , his followers arent fan either. He requested his fans to address him Appa (Daddy) for he consider his fans as his family. (Which I honestly find it weird calling him that since we are almost at the same age, LOL). His premise is simple, he’s there to cultivate his craft as an actor while we are here to appreciate his wonderful talent.

Kim Nam Gil is regarded by his co-workers and co-stars as the “clown” in the set/production. I have seen clips and NG’s showing his wacky side. I guess a minute or so with him will not cause me boredom and will laugh instantly. However, after reading few interviews with him I also feel a bit of hesitation. He is a deep person by his choice of words and answers. He can answer you with a question. Or the answer will make you ask for more. He wont just settle for a simple yes or no. He can talk for an hour or so and he wont dare to care.

With the knowledge I have about him, can I regard myself as his number one fan in Philippines? Nope. He still remains a book to be read. For me am still at the few pages of his life. I once asked the members how well do we know KNG and I answered 80-90 %, that is, based on his career portfolio. But as a person, Kim Nam Gil maintained his private life away from the limelight. His female bestfriend (whom he mentioned in his interview once) or his brother or his break ups with his exes-those are remained unscathed in the public eye. We know him as an actor but have you ever wondered, when he felt the happiest?

Abi classified Kim Nam Gil as a realist actor, where he put himself into the character until he owns it as if the character is no longer Kim Nam Gil. There will be no other Kang-mu. Bidam. Shim Geun Wook. So I wondered, how he had withdrawn himself from this wounded characters?

When he reverted his name from Lee Han to his real name Kim Nam Gil, a lot of critics asked why. He regarded this as a change for him as an actor. He felt being true to himself using his real name. That may have resulted confusion to his Lee Han followers. But IMO, this change of name only regained him to introduce a new actor in the field. Could be because he want to define himself away from the No Regret status? Only him can answer that.

I wish I can ask these questions sometime in the future. Because as my title conveys, the making of Kim Nam Gil mystified me still. He is not a halyu star. He’s one of the few actors though who stood out in distinction as an actor’s actor. Previously said, KNGph have a year and a half to look back at his works prior to QSD. Maybe, we can have a hint on how his acting is this superb, impressing not only his fellow Koreans but overseas fans as well.

Day 13 of July. May mangyayari ba sa pagitan nito hanggang mag-akinse para masabing hindi pa ito ang tamang oras ng pamamaalam?

Eight years ago, I have witnessed myself kung paano nalungkot at nangulila nang umalis din ang perslab ko papunta sa kabundukan ng Zambales para mag-training sa Philippine Navy. Tanda ko pa sa araw ng pagpunta niya sa headquarters sa Roxas Boulevard, isang oras kaming nagusap sa cellphone ( di pa uso ang mga unlicall noon so kamusta naman ang nagastos ko sa load). Sa pamamaalam pa lang thru phone di ko na kinaya. Paano na lang kung talagang nakita ko siyang sumampa sa army truck. Or Makita siyang papalayo na bitbit ang mga gamit niya at sigurado akong magkikita na lamang kami matapos ang isang taon.

Nakakatuwa naming isipin, ngayon ulit ko naramdaman yung pangungulilang iyon na di ko akalain na ang taong nagngangalang Kim Nam Gil ang siyang dahilan ng matinding kalungkutan ko ngayon. For few months of admiration and keeping this page updated, I met different people, discovered my strength and weaknesses; have known my limitations and how far I can go.

For six months, this page have grown into something beautiful. A unified 5, 000 ++ fans who did not only swoon over Kim Nam Gil but also admire his humility and kind heart. He had entertained us by his wacky character as Bidam; carried away by his unstoppable love for Queen SEon Deok, and cried more than a liter of tears over his glorious death in the story. For six months, we have searched for all his pictures available in the cyberworld; watched those fanmade vids in youtube; learned to become patient while viikii painstakingly loads his current drama series; got curious about his previous movies and drama. We explored his life all through out . We were humbled by his generosity towards the unfortunate children. His low profile makes our pedestal for him hikes a notch higher. Everyday.

Kwento ng sundalo kong ekis noon, mahirap ang pinagdaanan nilang training. Sa sobrang hirap eh kapag nakalabas ka, tataaas ang tingin mo sa sarili mo dahil nalampasan mo ang physical, mental, emotional and psychological torture na dinanas mo mula sa kampo. Kugn iisipin ko si KNG, maaga siyang magigising araw-araw. Bago kumain ng breakfast, magjojogging muna sila sa kabundukan. Buong araw uubusin nila ang oras nila sa physical na gawain. May mga klase rin silang tinatawag para pag-aralan ang mga military terms and code of discipline.

Sa unang anim na buwan magiging ganon ang itsura ni KNG, wala na ang kanyang “bangs” na bagay na bagay sa kanya. Magiging highcut or flat top or even kalbo ang hairdo niya sa loob ng 2 taon. Puro mga camouflouge at combat shoes and laging get up niya. Mas madungis pa siya sa gusgusing Bidam na nakilala natin sa QSD. Sa dalawang taon sa kampo , isa lamang siyang private. Walang PA. walang maglalaba ng damit niya kundi siya. Walang sariling shower room. Walang malambot na higaan at mainit na comforter. Walang video camera. Walang limelight.

Kung tuloy na si KNG sa akinse. Dalawang damdamin ang mamayani sa akin. Lungkot at pag-asa. Nakakulongkot dahil mawawalay ang lalaking kinahumalingan natin mula sa kanyang ngiti at matatalas na tingin. But am hopeful at the same time that he will come back—a new Kim Nam Gil. Isang bagong imaheng patuloy natin susubaybayan .

Isa siya sa mga taong nagpasaya sa ating sa loob ng anim na buwan. He will continue to inspire us all even this time na hindi na niya makikita ang mga sons and daughters niya (san man tayo sulok ng mundo)

We will surely miss him.

Kung soulmate ko man ang kwentong ito malamang oo. Dahil this story really turned my whole being upside down. Ininvade and diwa ko at pinagdebate ang puso ko kung ako ba ay dapat ng magmove on o hayaang magpakalulong sa mundong hindi sinasadyang nabuo. Hanggang ngayon, ito ang aking Pandora.

I started QSD just as a routine everynight at GMA telebabad. Ang alam ko lang highest rating drama siya nung 2009 sa south korea. Yun lang. Never ko pang ginala ang mga fansites, and reviews. Pero nugn lumaki na si Deokman at napasabak sila sa gera, dun na ako nahumaling sa story. Ang galling ng mga writers. Mula sa series of events na magkakadugtong , ang bawat lines ng mga characters (though translated siya , close naman to talaga sa original).

Curiosity lead me para malaman ko ang mga casts. And one thing intrigued me, si Bidam. Di pa siya nagpapakita and later on, from the review don ko nalaman na ang ending ng story ay tragic.

Pero tumigil ulit ako don. hinayaan ko lang na manood ng QSD , every night without deducing my first info about Bidam.

Then came episode 21.

Napatili ako for any reason sa kindat ni Bidam kay Deokman. Yun pa lang kinilig na ako. It was not because bidam is KNG (I don’t have no idea yet who is this guy! Tsk poor me!). Everytime na naalala ko ang epi na yon, naisip ko na dun pa lang nagumpisa na ang bideok. Why Bidam saved Deokman? It is not because he is obligating himself . It is because of his realization of one life is as precious as 200 lives. Tumakbo siya ng matulin hindi upang iligtas ang dalaga sa kamay nila seolwon. Niligtas niya dahil sa pagbabalak nitong pagpapakamatay. Mula sa katagang “Thank you” nag umpisa ang lahat. Ang turning point ng buong storya ng Bideok.

CORRUPTED LOVE STORY

Fastforward: Now .

My first attempt to read the YD/BD thread in qsph was last month.. At kung nakakanosebleed ang magbasa malamang limpak limpak ng tissue ang nakasaksak sa ilong ko. Napakintense ng discussions. Binalikan ko kahapon, sa sobrang init ng DB para kang mapapaso. But i came accross with one word , one Bideok claiming that the Yudeok was corrupted by the writers (that made the whole YAPH counterattack for more).

Sigh.

Corrupted was an understatement for Bideok. For me it was the most exploited story ever written. An exploitation yet resulted to mysteries, woes and imagination of the viewers all over the world. If Bideok is a book it had been a bestseller. If Sophocles is alive right now, he may lauded the two writers who made the most depressing ending of a love story i have ever seen.

INCOGNITO

Bidam would have been a plain villain . That’s it. Yan lang naman talaga ang plano nila Park Sang-Yeon (one of the writers) sa character ni Bidam—-a villain, based from the historical accounts where he was tagged as the greatest rebel of shilla . Pero …THERE IS AN ACTOR NAMED KIM NAM GIL who set the bar higher than expected. Pagkalabas pa lang ni KNG as Bidam sa epi 21, nagshoot ang ratings ng QSD to 40 %. KNG portrayed the role as if Bidam and KNG merged into one . (Sabi nga ni Guks, KNG is one of the few realist actors today) Kaya naman naturingan si KNG na secret weapon ng QSD . And later on, sumakit na ang ulo ng mga writers dahil di nila alam kung paano nila gagawing good to evil si Bidam sa kwento.

Eto ang description ni Park Sang-yeon sa conclusion ng QSD :

”Bidam inherits the life of Misil, and their story comes to an end. The tragedy of his mother’s life comes full circle and he becomes the wretched hero of the same fate. Ultimately he gains nothing he desires – not a place in history, Silla nor Deokman – and ends up forgotten by history, recorded only as the instigator of a mutiny. He is loved then hated, he gains power only to lose it, he earns the trust of people and then loses that trust. He will crash and burn, and his end will be tragic and glorious.”

The writers made Bidam’s background as complex and complicated as it is for the viewers and the story itself to understand. An abandoned, unacknowledged child he was—–grew up with misunderstanding and detachment from his master. He was a product of no certainties. He has nothing to loose. No name to pass as legacy. No lineage nor ancestry to worry for. He has trust issues but at the same time, wanting to enjoy the trust given to him. This is where the writers made an opportunity to explore and exploit his character. Bidam had premised to a “can do anything no holds barred and nothing to loose” man.

THE CHARACTERS, THE STORY AND WRITERS’ ROAD BLOCK

Namaraan ang mga writers para mas lalo pang majustify ang Bideok. Una si Munno. If merong reflection ang mga writers sa story, si Munno yon. Illusiyonadong matanda na nangangarap na magkakatuluyan si Deokman at Bidam na pati Birth certificate nila pinagsama na niya .Kahit mga babies pa lang nilagyan na niya ng malisya ang pag hawak ni Bidam sa noo ni Deokman. Later sa story, Munno then believed his pupil (that even to his very last breath, he even pardoned Bidam’s attempt to slay him.) He was then convinced that the Princess brought the sincerity in him.

MIshil even gave a piece of advice kay Bidam dahil alam na lang niya na pag ipagpapatuloy ng anak niya ang pangarap niya, malaki ang kapalit ay iyon ang legacy na inalagaan ni Mishil.

Seolwon and the rest of the Royal Inspectorate council feared of the aftermath of the nuptials plus the secret covenant.

Yeomjong, who had provoked Bidam, was the one who described how trustworthy Deokman to Bidam was.

Chunchu need to tickle Bidam’s belief of Deokman’s feelings for him. Hindi ipapatanim ni Chunchu yun sa isip ni Bidam kung wala nga talagang nararamdaman si Deokman sa kanya.

Tuso ang mga writers. Ang Bideok love story was presented sa ibat’ibang paraan. Minsan , you got to figure it out. Minsan naman, it was presented literally. One argument was that Deokman’s admission of her love was only at episode 57 , a few episodes more to go before the whole series will end. Oo nga naman, dun siya umamin. Pero hindi ba yung mga words ni Bidam don (You were the only one who did not point fingers at me for what I did. What the world around me considered insolence, you called it confidence. What they called cruelty, you praised it as courage, supporting me all the way. And what they chastised as vile subterfuges, were lauded by you as brilliant strategy…) sum up the whole Bideok from episode 21?

The last part of episdoe 62 showed the encounter of two Deokman. The younger and the Queen. Sabi niya, endure it until the end dahil ang path na tatahakin niya ay siya lamang magisa. Kahit na gustuhin man niya, di niya nakasama ang kapatid niya sa pag rule sa Shilla. Hindi rin niya nakasama si sohwa who treat her not as a majesty but her daughter. Those two, died in vain. And the third person was Bidam. Hindi niya nakita ang pagkamatay ng dalawa. At ang masakti ang taong pinakamamahal niya who died in vain ay nakita niya right before her eyes. I don’t question her tears during Bidam ‘s pacing toward her. I won’t compare the way she cried during Cheomyong ‘s death(nangdo pa lang siya dito non) . Or Sohwa’s death(Prinsesa pa lang siya dito non) .

Because , the last scene said it all..”endure it”. She endure it but after the last breath of Bidam, she issued her last edict, raised her flag and gave up.

THE INSATIABLE ENDING

Eto yung ending na halos ikaubos ng hininga ko .Literally.
Dito ko napatunayan how love can be so great and powerful that it can end a war. It can unite a nation. It can do greater things.

Deokman sacrificed her love to Bidam for Shilla. But it was too late to realize that after Bidam’s death she can no longer rule the country. She had endured it for three days, yes. But did she live with it? NO.
She is ill , yes. But take a look at that episode, when she endured even to give praise sa mga taong nasasakupan niya. Deny to death pa siya kay yushin na may sakit siya. Pero pagkamatay ni Bidam, wala na siyang dahilan pa para mag abdicate ng throne. The death itself is her only way to be with Bidam.

Bidam sacrificed Shilla for her love to Deokman. But it was too late for him to realize that it was him that Deokman want and not Shilla. At ang tanging paraan na lamang niya para makaabot kay Deokman ang sincerity niya ay ang pagpilit niyang pagpunta sa teritoryo ng Reyna sampu ng mga libu-libong kawal na nakaabang para patayin siya.

He endured. Hoping to make those 70 steps towards Deokman into none. Sa bawat tama sa kanya ng mga sundalo (hwarang man o nangdo), wala siyang ininda makalapit lamang siya sa Reyna. Lahat nagkakaisa upang tapusin na ang kanyang buhay—isang kautusan na nanggaling din lang naman sa babaeng pinakamamahal niya.

When paces reduced to a few, when Yushin finally reclaim him with the first strike of his first sword—his struggle pushed him more. While everybody is hurting Bidam; while Yushin made those final strike to Bidam’s frail body; THERE WAS ONLY ONE SOUL WHO VERGED IN TEARS FOR HIM. There she was, the woman standing at the middle of that chaos, who only cared about his pain. Everybody have no mercy for him but neither did they notice those tears and remorse of the Queen. She may have laid the edict to slay Bidam with her convicted will, but her heart had spared the man who only cared but to speak her name…name called Deokman.

“If there could be heaven above the earth, they could meet there, which is why Queen Seon Deok asked to view the heavens, the land, and what is between, before the story ended. Indeed, the path ahead of the great Queen Seon Deok is arduous, but she was able to endure it to the end.”

Nabasa ko yan sa isang blog. At ilang beses ko ba yan binasa para mapatawad ko ang buong istorya ng QSD. Minahal ko ang kwentong to na kahit ngayon pinapanood ko pa rin ang tagalong version. Sa kabila ng lahat , narealize ko lang ang isang bagay matapos ang lahat ng nabasa ko patungkol sa Bideok (at sa argumentong nanggagaling sa Yudeok.)

Paano ba magmahal sa isang taong naturingan masama?
Paano mo paninindigan ang isang taong mahal mo na alam mong bukal ang pagmamahal niya sa yo , pero ang lahat ng tao kinamumuhian siya ?
Paano mo sasabihin ang Sorry sa taong nasaktan mo , pero ang pagkakataon na inilaan sa yo ay ipagkakait at ang kapalit non ay ang mawala ka sa buhay niya?

And that for me , is the a love that will indeed turn your world upside down.

Kim Nam Gil had been active in his career after his acting recognition as Bidam in Queen Seon Deok. Yet, his participation in charity works did not escape the public eye. Last year in November, he participated in UNICEF collaboration with World Cup( to be held in South Africa ) and apparel company Basic House shirts. This event will set up a T-Shirt Red Devil with the theme of “Never Alone”. The proceeds will be used to help children, particularly African-deficient world to provide supplies such as medicine, educational assistance and clothings. Korea, one of the participating country, encouraged celebrities to become part of the endorsements. KNG joined the campaign with other 20 celebrities namely Kim Hyun Jung, Yoon Eun Hye, Lee Jung Min Hwang Shin-hye, Park In-hwan, Julian Kang, and Lee Hye Jung Big Mama.

Early in January this year, KNG, together with his family went to do social service activities to the rest of Padang (Indonesia) 2009 earthquake victims. Kim Nam Gil is assisted by a committee of local NGO in Padang to extend help in rebuilding the homes and providing basic supplies of the ill-fated town. No news was spread during the period of his visit, and even managed to tour the marketplace without the knowledge of fans and media. Videos taken was later compressed to a documentary and was aired in MBC.

Also during his US( Las Vegas and Los Angeles) fashion shoot for Marie Claire, he squeezed his time to join an international campaign for Center for the Pacific Asian Family (CPAF). This was founded to help address domestic violence and sexual assault in the Asian and Pacific Islander communities.

Noted that he also went to Japan last April and appeared for free in the 3rd “Korea-Japan Friendship Fiesta” , a charity event which is based on the friendship, trust and co-existence of the two countries and fosters charity activities through cultural exchange. This year theme was to promote contributions in educational support for children in poverty-stricken areas in the Asia region.

Aside from his hands-on involvement , he also made partnership with Ad Hoc T-shirts where the proceeds of sale of his personalized KNG shirts will go to Haiti Earthquake victims.

“The reason why I do volunteer work outside of Korea and the narrator in the documentary(for Padang Earthquake Victim) because I thought I should do the job as I could …. I know many people are poor in Korea and I ask myself why. But, I noticed that scenario even worse outside of Korea–my perception changed when I visited Indonesia and saw one there who can not eat and sleep in the shelter. “–Kim Nam Gil

Imagine mo, pag balang araw, may weird na senaryo at nagrerequire na lahat ng mga may utang ang siya lamang may karapatang mabuhay, aba! Save by the bell ka!

At eto pa, kahit may utang ka, di ka makukulong. Promise. Nasa Civil Code yan (circa 1949).

Pero kahit na walang batas na nag uutos na ikulong ang mga nangungutang, may mga batas pa ren na nakadikit dito. Ang Anti-Bouncing Check Law (B.P bilang 22) halimbawa kung saan makukulong ka sa pag-issue ng check ng walang pondo sa araw na iprepresent na ng pinagbayaran mo sa bangko. Subalit may mga inherent rules of engagement pagdating sa utang. Pero siguro sa tindi ng pangangailan, di na rin natin naiisip na may ganyan pala.

RULE 1: TRUST and Confidence

            Ang Credit ay dahil sa trust and confidence mo sa pinaguutangan mo. Hindi mo siya pinautang dahil sa grounds na ganto: syota, asawa, friend, crush mo, sikat, madaming pera(oo hindi lahat ng madaming pera mayaman, LOL), kababata since fetus pa lang kayo, teacher, student, co-worker etc etc. kahit sino ka pa na anak ng hari at reyna. Hindi yan ang dahilan baket ka nagpautang. Yun ay dahil sa tiwala at sa paniniwala mo na kaya ka niyang bayaran.

            Kaya pag may nanghiram sa yo at wala ka naming tiwala, wag ka nang magpautang. Kahit na sabihin mo pa na nag-CI (credit investigation) ka na, nag –guarantee si syota , asawa, friend, crush , or kababata ng pahihiraman mo, nasa yo pa ren ang huling say. Kaakibat ng pagpapautang eh ang Risk. The higher ang level ng confidence mo kay  borrower, the higher the risk. Hingan mo ng commitment kung kelan niya bayaran. Kung di niya mabayran sa araw na yon, kasalanan mo pa ren. Kase sa commitment date ng pagbabayad niya, may risk pa ren yun.

RULE 2: WAG MAKIPAG AWAY HABANG MAY UTANG

            Totoo to. Lalo na kung ang pinautang mo ay ang syota mo. Wahahahaha. Wag ka nang umasa na makakakolekta ka pa ng maayos kung aawayin mo lang si borrower sa anu mang dahilan. Dito matetest ang iyong patience. Pag wala ka niyan, wag ka na rin mag pautang.

RULE 3: WAG GAWING CREDIT COLLECTION ANG COMMUNITY WEBSITE

May mga kompanya sa US na nabuhay ng ilang taon dahil lang sa financing (diplomatikong term ng pangungutang) hanggang sa bumagsak ang Wall Street.

Kahit na nga ang mga namatay na ay na-eextend pa ren ang utang sa kanilang heirs and successors.

Naaliw ako sa tuwing naririnig ko ang katagang to na binabanggit ni Mr. Fu sa radyo as one of his taglines.

Sa tuwing may nagtetext sa kanya at nanghihingi ng payo; matapos niyang mapayuhan ng panenermon, yan ang magiging final say niya.

Na kahit di naman niya alam ano itsura nung taong sawi sa pag-ibig or relasyon (legal o illegal), laging parting words niya yan, kahit na siguro sa kabilang dulo ng pinanggalingan ng text..baka na HB na yung listener o lalong bumaba NA ang morale pagkarinig ng “te…wag ka masyadong malandi te!”.

Chicken lang naman ang mangbigay ng payo. Ilalatag sa yo ang mga detalye, analyze , sabayan ng analogy , ng mga quotes galing sa mga prominenteng persons—and whola! Ayan na , pwede ka nang maging “dear friend” ate jolens!

Bawat araw na pagtatangka mong lumapit, nauudlot dahil puno ang isip mo ng mga “what if what if”. Nakahalata na rin si friend sa inconsistency ng katahimikan mo. Nagpapahaging na siya sa yo kung ano ang problema mo dahil sa busangot mong mukha.  Pero. Pinili mo mag-kiber kiberan.

Sa tinagal ng delaying tactics (that is, ang di pagharap sa problema) isa ka na lamang simpleng tuod na naghihiintay ng himala mula sa langit.

Ang mga friends ay hindi mga superhero para lahat ng problema natin sa life ay may solution. (nagpapaka-superhero lang..hahahaha) . Pero ang maging confidant natin sila sa buhay ay isang regalo mula kay Jeus. The more friends, the merrier  ang mga payo. Ang sermon, tawa , iyakan at kulitan. Para lang yang halo halo na madaming sahog. Ikaw kung magpipirme ka na lang sa mais con yelo o ice tubig.

Friends do come and go. Kaya wag ka nang maging paranoid na balang araw ang mga yan ay lalayasan ka, iwan kang mag-isa. Mas lalayasan ka sa lalo’t madaling panahon, kung ikaw na mataas ang tingin sa sarili eh magpapakahayok ka sa sarili mong diskarte sa buhay , kahit na naamoy mo na sa sarili mo na bulok pala lahat ng diskarte mo.

Baket nga ba ako nagsulat ng tungkol dito?

Para eto sa isang kaibigan na feeling ko tinaboy ako, kasama ng iba pa pa naming pwends.

Pero ano pa at sinarado na niya ang gate niya at tinapon ang susi sa dagat.
